Recently, large-scale facilities and projects such as
the Tohoku Medical Megabank project, cryo-electron microscopy,
and next-generation synchrotron radiation facilities are
being built one after another.
In association with this progress, the scope of
data-driven science becomes infinitely
larger, finer, and more diverse,
expanding to include 'unprecedented scale data'.
We challenge the value creation from
such unprecedented scale data through
the development of advanced data analysis and analysis methods,
and by applying and disseminating them across disciplines
and within and beyond academia, leading to social innovations.
The achievements are also linked to the development of
top-level human resources in data-driven science.
